Remember Links Pages?

Here are some resources for classic cycling enthusiasts.  Most of this website is geared towards giving people some help to wage a successful L'Eroica campaign.  But there are also links to websites I think are useful or interesting.  You can also reach me through my contact page.  L'Eroica is no joke.  Equipment choice is crucial.  Gearing and tires make the whole day.

L'Eroica:  https://eroica.cc/en
The Mother of All Vintage Cycling Events.  Held Annually on the first weekend of October in Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany, Italy.  Must do bucket list pilgrimage.  Held along many of the same famous White Roads as the professionals navigate in the Strade Bianche Classic in Sienna.  The long course is beautiful.  212km.  50% gravel.  50% pavement.  Almost 3900 meters of climbing (that's over 12,700 feet of climbing on a vintage bike).  I've never done it in less than 10 hours.  Many more reasonable courses to choose from.  All are spectacular, and the atmosphere is amazing.  Well worth the effort.

Velo Orange:  https://velo-orange.com/
VO makes a number of excellent products including outstanding threaded 1" headsets with cartridge bearings, sub-compact vintage-look cranks, beautiful free-wheel 126mm spacing hubsets, etc.  Check them out.

Velo Base:  https://velobase.com/
Search engine for vintage parts, years of production, etc.  Usually very accurate.

Vecchio's Bicicletteria Boulder, Colorado:  www.vecchios.com
Jim Potter has huge knowledge and experience with all things bike.  He's also a master wheel builder, and an authorized Moots dealer.  They also have a lot of beautiful vintage bikes hanging in the shop.  Give him a shout with any vintage-leaning needs.

GCN+:  https://plus.globalcyclingnetwork.com/
The best single place to watch live and recent racing.  Some geo-restrictions apply but with a good VPN service you can watch nearly everything.  Good commentary.  Particularly like Sean Kelly, Adam Blythe and Philippa York (the cyclist formerly known as Robert Millar).  The guys are extremely fast!  Sadly, GCN+ is no longer in business.  It's been swallowed up by the American Media Monster.  RIP.

Retro-gression:  https://www.retro-gression.com/
They focus on the fixed gear and track bike segment and have a wide selection of MKS pedals, straps, toe clips, and some other items that can be used for a "modern" vintage build.

Cicli Corsa:  https://ciclicorsa.com/  Cicli Corsa is an Italian online cycling shop with a great variety of difficult to find items.  Particularly, you can purchase Ambrosio Nemesis and Excellence rims and have them shipped reasonably to the States.

Rene Herse Cycles:  https://www.renehersecycles.com/  Rene Herse designs and sells a number of outstanding products in the Randonneuring, Gravel, and Ultra Distance segments.  Many of their products overlap with the Vintage universe, as Rene Herse is a historic French brand now based in Seattle, Washington.

Creekside Steel Cycling Club:  https://creeksidesteelcycling.com/index.html  Creekside Steel Cycling Club is a steel and retro focused cycling club based in Parker, Colorado.  Rides, advice, and organizers of the annual Eddy Rando Grand Fondo.

Eddy Rando:  http://www.eddyrando.com/  One of the premier vintage and steel cycling events in the USA.  Definitely a must to attend for any serious steel and vintage bike enthusiast.

Nobilette Handmade Cycles:  http://nobilettecycles.net/  Master framebuilder, Mark Nobilette is a longtime friend and collaborator with Curve Inc. and Classic Velo.  True old world craftsmanship.

Phil Wood:  https://phil-wood-co.myshopify.com/  Phil produces some of the best components anywhere.  Including hard to find square taper bottom brackets in various lengths.  Made in USA.

Interloc Racing Design:  https://www.interlocracing.com/  Another great US company producing high quality modern retro-style components including sub-compact cranksets, bottom brackets, headsets, and freewheels.

Tiralento Vintage Cycling Clothing:  https://www.tiralento.it/  Amazing hand-made Italian wool jerseys, shorts, retro style shoes, helmets, etc.  They can also produce custom orders.

Brooks Saddles:  https://www.brooksengland.com  Brooks continues to make both classic leather and more modern saddles and accessories.
